My Artistic Credo

As an artist, I am most interested in stories. There are always people, their lives, decisions and doubts behind each of my pictures. It depends on the technology I am actually interested in whether the essence of the persons on my pictures is expressed in the style and colours of an elaborate lead-glass window or rather of a black and white Indian ink image. The means of expression also depends on my own mood. My series always examine one particular idea and, at the same time I also learn about  the technology which I am using to express the message. There is often some story behind the pictures and series, which ads to or deepends the stories in the pictures. There are short stories, poems or haikus behind each of my picture series. For example some of the glass series depict challenging situations, physical or life disorders, while some others show children growing up too quickly,  side by side with the everyday infantilism of adults.  By the classic forms used in my ’fukucu’ tint drawing series I discover the problems of our modern world, such as solitude in a relationship, the need for human connections, and the failure in achieving it. My latest series was drawn in pens of varied tips, and depict imaginary places or scenes with shamanic bones. The hidden idea behind these pictures is the faith in filling the dreariness with beauty.

I try to show how differently we feel about what is good or beautiful, and how differently we react to a gesture or even to an everyday object.
